Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. To get carrier quotes, the quote tool collects only six data points: your gender, date of birth, stated health level, tobacco use, desired coverage amount, and policy term. Your name, address, and detailed health information stay private unless you decide to apply.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The rates displayed are quotes from each carrier for your selected health class, shown for information only. The actual premium you'll pay is determined by the carrier's underwriting, which may confirm, upgrade, or adjust your rate class. This site makes no guarantees about final pricing or eligibility.
What happens when I click Apply?
When you select Apply, you enter your name, which is then used to populate the application with your six answers. The application opens on the carriers' secure platform, where you can stop and return to it whenever you like. At the end you sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California broker (License 0B75129), handles all applications.
Will I need a medical exam?
It varies by carrier, coverage amount, and your answers. Some carriers with immediate-decision programs can approve eligible applicants with no exam; others may require one or allow you to substitute recent blood work from your doctor. Each quote listed on this site indicates whether an exam is required, possible, or not needed.
Is a longer term better?
A policy term should match the period when your dependents rely on your income: a home mortgage, young children at home, debts. Longer terms carry higher monthly costs but lock in the rate for more years. This site's quote tool lets you see rates for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30-year terms side by side.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool doesn't capture names or contact information. We don't sell or share visitor data with third parties. Our traffic measurement uses cookieless first-party technology. Visit the privacy page to see a full accounting of what is and is not collected.
